Forgive Competitors
In our competitive world, we often face rivals, including siblings, classmates, colleagues, extended family, or business competitors. Even when we’d rather not compete, it’s natural to feel the urge to outshine others sometimes. Plus, we all have a habit of comparing ourselves to those around us, which can affect our behavior and relationships. This is just part of being human!
It's easy to let resentment and anger towards those with whom you are competing — subtly or overtly — cloud your judgment and ultimately hinder your growth. However, harboring negative feelings can be detrimental to your mental health and overall performance. The world acts as your mirror; if you don’t feel good about yourself—whether it’s regarding your product, education, family, financial status, appearance, ethnicity, religion, or gender—others will likely reinforce those feelings of inadequacy.
You cannot entirely escape the reality of competition. However, that doesn't mean competition itself is inherently bad. Instead, you can always strive to be better than you were yesterday related to love, faith, integrity, peacefulness, prosperity, and joy.
When you look around, you can see countless businesses thriving. Many people are offered high-paying jobs, and families recognize unity's power. Society is coming together for mutually beneficial purposes. Individuals are becoming aware of the advantages of camaraderie over competition. Although it may seem counterintuitive, forgiving your competitors can help you free yourself from negativity, adopt a more positive and productive mindset, and open up new growth opportunities. Forgiveness also comes from the understanding that there is enough for everyone. Competition often signals desperation and a lack of faith.
