- Resistance to Change: Why the Subconscious Mind Blocks Your Growth
1. Why Change Feels Difficult Change is not difficult because you are weak. Change feels difficult because your subconscious mind is designed to protect what feels familiar. Even if your current life is painful, stressful, or limiting, the subconscious mind may still treat it as “safe” because it is known. The unknown, even when it is positive, can feel threatening. This is why people often say they want growth, success, healing, love, or abundance — but when the opportunity actually arrives, they may feel fear, doubt, procrastination, overthinking, or self-sabotage. Resistance to change is not always laziness. Sometimes, it is simply the subconscious mind trying to protect you from unfamiliar territory. 2. Theory of the Subconscious Mind and Resistance The subconscious mind stores memories, emotions, habits, beliefs, fears, and past experiences. It works silently in the background and tries to maintain emotional stability. Its basic logic is: Familiar = Safe Unfamiliar = Threat So, even if a new job, new relationship, new habit, new spiritual practice, or new level of success is good for you, the subconscious may still resist it because it does not know what will happen next. This resistance may show up as: “I will start tomorrow.” “What if I fail?” “What if people judge me?” “I am not ready yet.” “This is not practical.” “Maybe I should stay where I am.” “What if things get worse?” At a deeper level, the subconscious is not trying to destroy your life. It is trying to keep you within a known emotional pattern. 3. Chakra-Based Understanding of Resistance to Change In the Redikall and chakra-based approach, resistance to change can be understood through the 7 major chakras. Each chakra may hold a different type of subconscious fear. 4. Root Chakra: Fear of Safety and Survival The Root Chakra is connected with safety, stability, money, home, body, and survival. When change activates the Root Chakra, the subconscious may ask: “Will I be safe if I change?” This resistance may appear when someone wants to change careers, move to a new city, leave a toxic environment, start a business, or make a financial decision. Common Signs Fear of financial instability Staying in a painful situation because it feels familiar Anxiety about the future Over-dependence on routine Fear of losing security Example A person wants to leave a stressful job and start meaningful work, but every time they think about resigning, they panic. Their logical mind says, “This job is damaging me,” but their subconscious says, “At least this pain is familiar. What if the next step is unsafe?” 5. Sacral Chakra: Fear of Pain and Discomfort The Sacral Chakra is connected with pain, pleasure, comfort, and charm. When this chakra resists change, the subconscious may ask: “Will I be emotionally and physically comfortable if things change?” This often appears in relationships, emotional healing, creative expression, or lifestyle changes. Common Signs Fear of emotional discomfort Staying attached to old intimate relationships Fear of having fun Fear of inviting jealousy and sabotage Example Someone living in a toxic relationship with a partner may choose not to move on due to familiarity and comfort with the known way of dealing with the toxic partner. Moving out may feel unfamiliar and intimidating, even if it is healthier. 6. Solar Plexus Chakra: Fear of Flowing The Solar Plexus Chakra is connected with a sense of self-assurance, control, power, and position. When change activates this chakra, the subconscious may ask: “Will I have enough control over the unknown position?” This resistance often appears before taking a new position, moving residence, changing a job or business, or changing the equation in a relationship. Common Signs Feeling stuck Fearfulness and anxiety A sense of uncertainty Fear of losing control Difficulty taking the next step Example A man may not venture into a better business opportunity despite feeling stuck in his existing business. He may not be able to handle the anxiety, uncertainty, and upheaval caused by a lack of control over his finances. He might prefer to remain stuck instead of taking a risk with his existing business. 7. Heart Chakra: Fear of Love, Acceptance, and Vulnerability The Heart Chakra is connected with love, forgiveness, compassion, trust, and emotional openness. When this chakra resists change, the subconscious may ask: “Will I get hurt if I open my heart again?” This resistance often appears in love, forgiveness, family healing, receiving support, or trusting life again. Common Signs Fear of emotional vulnerability Difficulty forgiving Emotional walls Blocking Holding on to past hurt Example A person says they want a loving relationship, but whenever someone kind enters their life, they become suspicious, withdrawn, or distant. Their subconscious remembers past hurt and says, “Love is unsafe.” 8. Throat Chakra: Fear of Expression and Truth The Throat Chakra is connected with communication, truth, expression, authenticity, speaking up, self-honor, and recognition. When this chakra resists change, the subconscious may ask: “What will happen if I speak my truth?” This resistance often appears when someone needs to express themselves, share their ideas, reveal their feelings, live more authentically, or hold their head high with self-confidence. Common Signs Fear of humiliation, shame, or dishonor Fear of judgment and criticism Difficulty expressing oneself Over-explaining or remaining silent Fear of being authentic Example A person wants to tell their family they are choosing a different career path, but they keep postponing the conversation. The subconscious fears rejection, conflict, or disappointment. 9. Third Eye Chakra: Fear of Inner Clarity and Intuition The Third Eye Chakra is connected with dreams, ideas, visions, and their implementation. When this chakra resists change, the subconscious may ask: “What if my dreams, ideas, and visions remain unfulfilled?” Sometimes people avoid clarity because clarity demands action. Common Signs Confusion or conflict Overthinking Ignoring intuition Seeking too much external advice Mental fog Fear of making the wrong choice Example A person already knows their current lifestyle is not aligned with their soul, but they keep distracting themselves with work, social media, or other people’s opinions. The subconscious avoids clarity because clarity may require change. 10. Crown Chakra: Fear of Trusting Life and Higher Guidance The Crown Chakra is connected with faith, surrender, spiritual connection, divine wisdom, and higher purpose. When this chakra resists change, the subconscious may ask: “Can I trust life, God, the universe, or my higher path?” This resistance often appears when someone is being called toward a deeper spiritual journey, purpose-driven work, or surrendering control. Common Signs Fear of surrender Spiritual doubt Feeling disconnected Inability to integrate the material and spiritual realms Fear of the unknown Loss of meaning or purpose Example A person feels intuitively guided to serve others, teach, heal, or create something meaningful, but fears becoming ungrounded and disconnected from reality. There may be a seeming failure to synchronize human existence with the higher purpose of life. Real-Life Example: Why People Stay Stuck Even When They Want Change Imagine someone named Meera. Meera wants to start a healthier lifestyle. She wants to wake up early, meditate, eat better, and reduce screen time. For the first two days, she feels motivated. On the third day, old patterns return. She thinks, “I have no discipline.” But the deeper truth may be different. Her subconscious mind is familiar with late nights, emotional eating, distraction, and stress. These habits may not be healthy, but they are known. Meditation, silence, self-care, and discipline feel unfamiliar. So the subconscious creates resistance. It may say: “You are too tired.” “Start from Monday.” “This is not working.” “You have always been like this.” “One more day will not matter.” This is how the subconscious protects the old identity. Real change requires not only new action, but also inner reassurance. The mind needs to learn: “This new path is safe. Growth is safe. Healing is safe. Success is safe. Change is safe.” Redikally Speaking When you strengthen the Root Chakra, you stop worrying only about survival and shift your mindset to that of a thriver. When you strengthen the Sacral Chakra, you begin to feel confident that you can remain comfortable despite upcoming changes. When you strengthen the Solar Plexus Chakra, you learn to remain self-assured, accountable, and in charge of life, irrespective of shifts around you. When you strengthen the Heart Chakra, you feel safe to remain open to new relationships or shifts in relationship dynamics. When you strengthen the Throat Chakra, you feel confident to be your authentic self with self-honor and self-respect. When you strengthen the Third Eye Chakra, you find creative and intuitive solutions to discover your path forward to a fulfilled life. When you strengthen the Crown Chakra, you feel synchronized with your higher consciousness and learn to integrate your spiritual and material world. Conclusion Resistance to change is not always a weakness. It is often a message from the subconscious mind. The subconscious finds constancy and familiarity safe. It may find unfamiliarity, uncertainty, and the unknown intimidating. That is why it may try to block growth, even when the change is positive. Through the Redikall understanding of the 7 major chakras, we can begin to identify where the resistance is stored — whether it is survival, discomfort, control, emotional hurt, expression, vision, or spiritual integration. True transformation begins when the subconscious mind feels safe enough to release the old and welcome the new. Your resistance is not your enemy. It is a doorway to deeper understanding, healing, and transformation. Summary Resistance to change is deeply connected with the subconscious mind and the 7 major chakras. The subconscious mind finds constancy, familiarity, and repetition safe. It often sees unfamiliarity, uncertainty, and the unknown as intimidating. This is why people may remain stuck in old habits, painful relationships, stressful careers, or limiting beliefs even when they consciously desire transformation. Through chakra awareness, we can understand where the resistance is stored. The Root Chakra may fear insecurity, the Sacral Chakra may fear emotional change, the Solar Plexus may fear responsibility, the Heart may fear vulnerability, the Throat may fear expression, the Third Eye may fear clarity, and the Crown may fear surrender. True transformation begins when the subconscious mind feels safe enough to release the old and welcome the new. In Closing Change does not happen only by pushing harder. Change happens when your inner world feels safe enough to allow a new reality. When you understand your subconscious patterns and chakra-based resistance, you stop blaming yourself and start healing yourself. Your resistance is not your enemy. It is a message from within. Listen to it, understand it, and gently guide it toward transformation.

- Why Do We Resist Getting Up in the Morning?
A joyful, practical, and soulful look at morning resistance There is a particular kind of drama that happens in the morning. The alarm rings. Your hand appears from under the blanket like a sleepy little creature searching for the snooze button. Your brain says, “Absolutely not.” Your body says, “Five more minutes.” Your soul says, “Can we renegotiate this whole human-life arrangement?” And suddenly, waking up feels less like a natural transition and more like being pulled out of a warm cloud into a meeting you never agreed to attend. Morning resistance is real. And no, it does not always mean you are lazy, undisciplined, or lacking willpower. Often, the resistance to getting up in the morning is your body, mind, emotions, and energy system all trying to tell you something. Let us explore why people resist waking up, what may be happening on a deeper metaphysical level, which chakras may need attention, and what you can actually do to rise with more ease, joy, and self-kindness. First, Let’s Be Honest: The Bed Is Powerful A cozy bed in the morning has ancient magic. It is warm. It is safe. It asks nothing from you. It does not send emails. It does not ask you to make breakfast, attend calls, deal with traffic, pack lunches, or become a fully functioning adult before 9 a.m. So when people resist waking up, sometimes they are not resisting the morning itself. They are resisting what the morning represents. A new day means movement. Decisions. Responsibilities. Visibility. Effort. Unfinished tasks. Emotional weight. Expectations. The blanket, on the other hand, represents comfort, softness, protection, and pause. So, the question is not simply, “Why can’t I wake up?” The deeper question is: “What part of my life am I not ready to meet when I wake up?” That question opens the door to real understanding. Common Reasons People Resist Getting Up in the Morning 1. Your body is genuinely tired Sometimes the answer is not spiritual, emotional, or complicated. Sometimes you are just tired. If you are sleeping late, waking often, scrolling before bed, consuming too much caffeine, or living with constant stress, your body may not be getting the deep rest it needs. Your morning resistance may be your body saying: “Please do not drag me into another day on low battery.” In this case, discipline alone will not fix the issue. You need restoration. Sleep is not a luxury. It is maintenance for the brain, hormones, mood, immune system, and nervous system. 2. You are waking up into stress Many people do not wake up peacefully. They wake up directly into pressure. The first thoughts may be: “I have so much to do.”“I am already late.”“I forgot to reply to that message.”“I have that difficult conversation today.”“I do not want to face work.”“I am exhausted by my own life.” No wonder the body resists. Your nervous system may associate morning with danger, pressure, performance, or emotional overload. So instead of waking up with enthusiasm, you wake up with dread. This is not weakness. This is conditioning. If your mornings have become a gateway to stress, your body will naturally want to stay in the one place that feels safe: bed. 3. There is no emotional excitement for the day People do not usually leap out of bed for a day that feels dull, heavy, repetitive, or meaningless. If every morning feels like a copy-paste version of yesterday, resistance can build. Wake up. Rush. Work. Eat. Scroll. Sleep. Repeat. The soul gets bored. Humans need meaning. We need little sparks. We need something to look forward to, even if it is small: a good cup of tea, a walk, music, a creative project, a loving conversation, a beautiful outfit, a moment of prayer, a stretch in sunlight. Morning resistance can sometimes mean: “I need more aliveness in my life.” Not necessarily a huge life change. Sometimes just more joy woven into the ordinary. 4. You are emotionally avoiding something Morning brings consciousness back online. And with consciousness comes memory. The issue you avoided yesterday is still there. The message you ignored is still waiting. The uncomfortable feeling you pushed aside may still be sitting quietly inside you. Sleep temporarily suspends awareness. Waking brings it back. So, resistance can be emotional avoidance in disguise. You may not be resisting waking up. You may be resisting grief, fear, shame, pressure, conflict, loneliness, or uncertainty. This is why some mornings feel heavy even after a full night of sleep. The body got rest, but the heart did not. 5. Your mind has too many decisions waiting Decision fatigue can begin before you even leave bed. What should I wear? What should I eat?Where do I start?Should I exercise?Should I reply now? What is most urgent? What did I forget? When the morning has no structure, the brain has to work too hard too soon. This creates resistance. A simple morning routine reduces friction. It tells the brain, “Do not worry. We know what happens next.” The mind loves rhythm. The body loves rhythm. Even the soul loves rhythm. 6. You may be living out of alignment This is a deeper one. Sometimes morning resistance appears when your daily life does not match your inner truth. You may be in a job, relationship, routine, environment, or identity that no longer feels aligned. You may be doing what is expected, but not what feels alive. You may be living successfully on the outside but quietly disconnected on the inside. In that case, waking up feels like returning to a role you are tired of playing. Your soul may whisper: “I do not want another day of pretending.” This does not mean you must instantly quit everything and move to a mountain. But it may mean you need to listen more deeply. Resistance often softens when life begins to feel more honest. The Metaphysical Meaning of Morning Resistance From a metaphysical perspective, morning is not just the start of a day. It is a daily rebirth. Every morning, you move from the dream world into the physical world. From the subconscious into the conscious. From the invisible into action. From rest into embodiment. That transition requires energy. If your energy field is heavy, scattered, ungrounded, or emotionally blocked, waking up can feel difficult. Morning resistance may indicate one or more of these energetic patterns: 1. Your energy is not grounded You may feel floaty, foggy, disconnected, or reluctant to enter the physical world. This often happens when you spend too much time in thought, worry, fantasy, screens, or spiritual seeking without enough body connection. Metaphysically, waking up asks your spirit to fully enter the body again. If you are not grounded, part of you may resist “landing.” 2. Your life force feels low In spiritual traditions, life force is the vital energy that animates enthusiasm, creativity, desire, and movement. When life force is low, mornings feel like pushing a cart with square wheels. You may not feel sad exactly. Just flat. Heavy. Uninspired. This can happen when joy, creativity, sexuality, play, and emotional expression are suppressed. The soul needs nourishment, not just productivity. 3. Your willpower center may be depleted Getting up requires the energy of “I choose. I act. I begin.” If your personal power feels weak, mornings can feel like a battle between intention and inertia. You may know what to do but struggle to activate. Metaphysically, this often points to the solar plexus chakra, the center of confidence, direction, discipline, and self-trust. 4. You may be carrying emotional heaviness from yesterday Energy does not always reset just because the clock changes. If you go to sleep with resentment, fear, sadness, or overthinking, you may wake up with the same energetic residue. Morning resistance can be yesterday’s emotions asking to be cleared. A peaceful night routine is therefore not just about sleep. It is energetic hygiene. 5. Your soul may be asking for a softer life Sometimes resistance is wisdom. Not all resistance is sabotage. Some resistance is your inner being saying: “This pace is too harsh.”“This routine has no beauty.”“This life needs more tenderness.”“This body needs care.”“This heart needs listening.” In a world that glorifies hustle, morning resistance may be a sacred interruption. It may be asking you to create mornings that feel less like punishment and more like invitation. Which Chakras Need Attention to Overcome Morning Resistance? You do not need to become an expert in chakras to work with them. Think of chakras as symbolic energy centers that reflect different aspects of your physical, emotional, and spiritual life. For morning resistance, these chakras are especially important. 1. Root Chakra: For Safety, Stability, and Grounding The root chakra, located at the base of the spine, is connected with survival, safety, stability, and grounding on the planet Earth. When the root chakra feels imbalanced, mornings may feel unsafe or overwhelming. You may wake up anxious, rushed, heavy, or disconnected from your body and the ground reality. Signs your root chakra may need support You feel anxious when the day begins. You feel unsafe, unsupported, or unstable. You wake up already worried about money, responsibilities, or survival. You feel disconnected from your body. Occasionally, there are thoughts of suicide, escape or self sabotage. How to strengthen the root chakra Place your feet on the floor as soon as you wake up and say: “I safely embrace the human experience on the planet Earth” Then feel your feet. Wiggle your toes. Notice the ground. Let your body know: we are here, we are supported, we are not floating through life alone. Practical root chakra supports include walking, stretching, eating a nourishing breakfast, Walking bare feet on the grass or floor, hobbies such as clay work, gardening, or pottery. A strong root chakra makes waking up feel less like being thrown into the world and more like being welcomed by the earth. 2. Sacral Chakra: For Joy, Creativity, and Desire The sacral chakra, located in the lower abdomen, is connected with pleasure, creativity, emotions, sensuality, and joy. If your mornings feel dry, boring, or lifeless, your sacral chakra may need attention. A person can have a very disciplined life and still feel no desire to wake up because there is no excitement or enthusiasm. Signs your sacral chakra may need support You feel bored by your routine. You have little excitement or pleasure. You suppress emotions. You feel creatively blocked. You wake up thinking, “What is the point?” Your days feel too mundane or joyless. How to strengthen the sacral chakra Add pleasure to your morning. Not chaos. Not indulgence. Simple pleasure. Design your bedroom with vibrant colors, play one beautiful song in the morning hours. Use a nice mug. Wear something that feels good. Stretch your hips. Dance for thirty seconds. Open a window. Let morning light touch your face. Make breakfast feel like a small ceremony instead of a rushed refueling station. Affirm: “I celebrate every moment of my life” The sacral chakra reminds us that life is not only about getting things done. It is also about celebrating every experience with inner joy. Solar Plexus Chakra: For Willpower, Confidence, and Action The solar plexus chakra, located around the upper abdomen, is connected with personal power, motivation, discipline, confidence, and the ability to take action. This is one of the most important chakras for overcoming resistance. When the solar plexus is weak or blocked, you may keep saying, “I should get up,” but your body does not move. You may feel stuck, passive, doubtful, or defeated before the day even starts. The playful child personality in you might be at war with the dominant parent personality and sabotage all disciplining attempts by a serious, sincere and authoritative aspect of your personality. Signs your solar plexus chakra may need support You procrastinate getting out of bed. You hate routine and discipline. You feel powerless over your habits. You wake up feeling defeated, victimized, helpless and hopeless. You lack willingness or will power. You suffer from conflict between the child in you and the parent personality in you. How to strengthen the solar plexus chakra Before getting out of bed, place one hand on your upper belly and take three strong breaths. Say: “I safely flow through life by being in charge of my life.” Then do one simple action immediately: organize your room, organize your desk and write in a diary the main agenda for the day, leaving ample room to flow in between the structured routine. Tell yourself, you can easily flow through the system and structure. The solar plexus grows through small kept promises. Every time you do what you said you would do, even in a tiny way, your inner power strengthens. 4. Heart Chakra: For Emotional Openness and Self-Compassion The heart chakra, located in the center of the chest, is connected with love, compassion, connection, forgiveness, and emotional healing. Morning resistance can come from emotional heaviness. If your heart feels burdened, waking up may feel painful. You are scared of getting emotionally triggered again. You are scared of getting hurt again and the effort to protect your emotional vulnerability can be overwhelming and exhausting. You find it emotionally safe to be in the bed where no one can hurt you further. Signs your heart chakra may need support You wake up with sadness or heaviness. You feel lonely or emotionally closed. You are hard on yourself in the morning. You start the day with self-criticism. You feel disconnected from love or gratitude. You find it difficult to forgive yourself and others. You are afraid of forgiving. How to strengthen the heart chakra Before reaching for your phone, place your hand on your chest. Say: “I forgive myself for not forgiving myself and others across time and space.” Take a few breaths into the chest. Think of one thing you are grateful for, but make it real. Not a forced gratitude list. Something simple and honest. “I am grateful for this pillow.” “I am grateful for another chance.” “I am grateful for tea.” “I am grateful that I do not have to be perfect today.” Self-compassion is powerful morning medicine. A heart-led morning does not begin with emotional closure. It begins with courage to open up to your truth, to people, to love in different shades. . 5. Throat Chakra: For Expression, Truth, and Inner Honesty The throat chakra, also known as Vishuddhi Chakra, is located at the throat and is connected with communication, truth, self-expression, authenticity, and the ability to speak and live from your inner voice. When the throat chakra is blocked or imbalanced, you may resist waking up because another day feels like another challenge to prove yourself worth. Morning resistance can sometimes be the soul whispering: “I do not want to wake up into a life where I have to prove my worthiness to myself or others.” This does not always mean your whole life is meaningless. Sometimes it simply means you need the courage to be your authentic self. You need to live your truth and be truthful to yourself at least. You need to honor who you are and the world will honor you for all that you are. The throat chakra helps resistance soften because truth creates energy. Guilt of deviation from the truth drains your energies. When we keep holding back our words, emotions, ideas, songs, stories, needs, and desires, our energy becomes heavy. We may wake up tired not because the body is weak, but because the spirit is tired of being edited. Signs your throat chakra may need support You wake up feeling emotionally heavy but cannot explain why. You often say “I’m fine” when you are not. You struggle to ask for what you need. You feel unheard, unseen, or misunderstood, criticized, judged or even humiliated. You suppress your creativity or opinions. You avoid difficult conversations. You feel like your daily life does not reflect your real truth. You experience tightness in the throat when emotional. You start the day already feeling like you have to wear a mask to please others and seek their validation all the time. How to strengthen the throat chakra Begin your morning by giving your inner voice a little space. Listen to yourself. Validate your true feelings Before checking your phone or speaking to anyone else, ask yourself: “What is true for me this morning?” Then answer honestly. Not dramatically. Not perfectly. Just truthfully. You might say: “I recognize that I feel tired.” “I recognize that I need gentleness today.” “I recognize that I am excited but nervous.” “I recognize that I do not want to rush.” “I recognize that I need support.” “I recognize that I want to feel more free.” “I recognize that I am ready to begin slowly.” There is something deeply healing about telling yourself the truth before you feel forced to comply with the world around you. You can also place a hand gently on your throat and say: “I honor myself and all that I am, I was, and shall be.” Another beautiful throat chakra practice is humming. Yes, humming. It may feel silly at first, but the throat loves vibration. Hum softly for a minute in the morning. Chant “Ham,” the traditional seed sound associated with the throat chakra. Sing in the shower. Read an affirmation aloud. Speak your intention for the day. Your voice is not only for communication. It is also a healing instrument. Throat chakra morning practices Try one of these: Say your morning affirmation out loud instead of only thinking it. Hum while making tea or coffee. Journal one honest sentence: “Today, I need…” Sing one joyful song while getting ready. Practice saying a loving boundary: “I can do this, but I cannot do that.” Drink warm water slowly and imagine your throat softening. Speak your intention clearly: “Today, I choose calm, courage, and honest expression.” The throat chakra teaches us that self-expression is life force. When you allow yourself to speak, sing, write, ask, laugh, and tell the truth, your energy begins to move again. And sometimes, the reason we do not want to get out of bed is because we are tired of living a muted version of ourselves. So let the morning hear your voice. Even if it is sleepy. Even if it is raspy. Even if the first sound you make is a dramatic groan. That counts too. Your truth is waking up with you. 5. Third Eye Chakra: For Clarity and Inner Vision The third eye chakra, located between the eyebrows, is connected with intuition, clarity, imagination, and inner vision. If your mornings feel foggy, confused, or mentally scattered, this chakra may need support. Sometimes people resist waking up because the day feels unclear. The mind does not know where to direct energy, so it chooses delay. Signs your third eye chakra may need support You wake up mentally foggy. You feel unclear about your priorities. You overthink before getting out of bed.You feel disconnected from your intuition. You start the day by drowning in your phone. How to strengthen the third eye chakra Give your mind a clear first focus. Ask: “What is one thing that would make today meaningful?” Not twenty things. One. You can also keep a notebook by your bed and write one sentence in the morning: “I implement all my dreams, ideas, and vision.”” Clarity reduces resistance. The mind relaxes when it knows the direction. 6. Crown Chakra: For Meaning and Spiritual Connection The crown chakra, located at the top of the head, is connected with divine connection, purpose, trust, and higher consciousness. If you feel spiritually disconnected, mornings can feel empty. You may wake up and immediately ask, “Why am I doing all this?” The crown chakra helps reconnect daily life with deeper meaning. Signs your crown chakra may need support You feel disconnected from the divinity within. Life feels mechanical. You feel spiritually dry. You wake up with existential heaviness. You feel emptiness in spite of having all material comforts and loving companionship. How to strengthen the crown chakra Begin your morning with a moment of connection. This could be prayer, silence, mantra, meditation, chanting, reading a sacred passage, or simply looking at the sky. Say: “I integrate my head, heart and soul level aspirations.” The crown chakra reminds us that a day is not just a schedule. It is a sacred opportunity for growth, love, learning, and presence. A Simple Chakra Morning Ritual for Resistance This takes about three minutes. Before you get out of bed, breathe slowly and move through these lines: Root: “I embrace my ground reality.” Sacral: “I allow joy into this day.” Solar Plexus: “I have the inner strength to begin.” Heart: “I forgive myself for not forgiving myself and others” Third Eye: “I implement all my dreams, ideas, and vision with total clarity.” Crown: “I integrate my head, heart and spiritual aspirations.”.” Then sit up. Put both feet on the floor. Drink water. Open the curtains. Let the day enter gently. This is not about becoming a perfect morning person. It is about creating a loving bridge between sleep and life. Practical Tips to Overcome Morning Resistance 3. Stop making your alarm the villain A harsh alarm can shock the nervous system. Try a softer sound, sunrise alarm, mantra music, birdsong, or gentle instrumental tone. Waking up should feel less like a fire drill and more like an invitation. 2. Put your phone away from the bed This is simple but powerful. If your phone is beside you, the snooze button wins. Social media wins. Messages win. The world enters your mind before you have entered your own body. Place your phone across the room or outside the bedroom. When the alarm rings, you have to stand up. Once you are standing, half the battle is over. 3. Prepare the night before Morning resistance often begins the previous night. Before bed, prepare one or two things: Choose your clothes. Fill a water bottle. Write your top three tasks. Tidy one small area. Prepare breakfast ingredients. Set your yoga mat, journal, or walking shoes nearby. A smoother morning creates less resistance. Your future self loves small acts of preparation. 4. Give yourself something to look forward to Do not make your morning only about duty. Add one tiny delight. A special tea. A favorite song. A balcony moment. A five-minute stretch. A beautiful prayer. A page of a book. A quiet coffee. A short walk. A cheerful breakfast. Joy is not a reward after productivity. Joy can be the doorway into productivity. 5. Use the “five-minute promise” Do not tell yourself, “I have to conquer the entire day.” That is too much. Tell yourself: “I only need to begin for five minutes.” Sit up for five minutes. Stretch for five minutes. Walk for five minutes. Journal for five minutes. Resistance hates small beginnings because they are too easy to argue with. Once you start, momentum often arrives. 6. Avoid starting the day with self-criticism Many people wake up and immediately attack themselves. “I am late again.” “I am so lazy.” “I never change.” “Why am I like this?” This creates shame, and shame creates more resistance. Try replacing criticism with coaching. Instead of “I am lazy,” say: “My body is asking for support. What is one kind action I can take now?” You do not need to bully yourself into a better life. You can lovingly lead yourself there. 7. Let light touch your eyes early Natural morning light helps signal to the body that the day has begun. Open the curtains. Step outside. Sit near a window. Let the morning sun greet you. Even a few minutes of light can help your body clock feel more awake over time. 8. Move before you think too much The longer you lie in bed thinking, the more convincing the resistance becomes. Your mind will produce a full legal case for staying under the blanket. So move first. Sit up. Stretch your arms. Roll your shoulders. Stand. Wash your face. Step outside. Do ten gentle squats. Dance badly. Bad dancing is still spiritual if done with sincerity. Movement changes state. The body often wakes the mind, not the other way around. 9. Create a morning identity Instead of saying, “I am trying to wake up early,” say: “I am slowly becoming a morning person..” Identity is powerful. You are not just changing an alarm time. You are becoming a person who honors their energy, body, purpose, and peace. 10. Check for deeper health or emotional concerns Sometimes morning resistance is connected to sleep disorders, depression, anxiety, burnout, hormonal changes, nutrient deficiencies, chronic stress, or other health issues. If you consistently wake up exhausted, hopeless, unusually heavy, or unable to function, it is wise to speak with a qualified health professional. Spiritual practices are beautiful, but they do not replace medical or mental health support when it is needed. The body is sacred. Caring for it is spiritual too. A Joyful Morning Practice: The “Rise and Smile” Method Here is a simple practice you can try tomorrow. When your alarm rings, do not ask, “Do I feel like getting up?” That question is dangerous. At 6 a.m., the answer is usually written by your pillow. Instead, say: “Good morning, life. Let’s begin gently.” Then follow these steps: Sit up before thinking too much. Put your feet on the floor. Drink water. Open the curtains. Take three deep breaths. Say one loving sentence to yourself. Do one small movement. Begin with the easiest next action. Your morning does not need to be cinematic. You do not need to wake up glowing, meditating on a mountaintop, sipping green juice while your journal sparkles in the sunrise. You can wake up with messy hair, one eye half-open, and still begin beautifully. The goal is not perfection. The goal is partnership with yourself. Affirmations for Morning Resistance Try repeating any of these: I am safe to begin. I rise with kindness, not pressure. My energy returns one breath at a time. I welcome joy into ordinary moments. I am grounded, guided, and capable. My morning is a doorway to amazing possibilities. Final Thoughts: Make the Morning Your Friend Resistance to waking up is not your enemy. It is a messenger. It may be telling you that your body needs rest, your nervous system needs calm, your heart needs care, your life needs more joy, your purpose needs attention, or your energy needs grounding. Instead of fighting the resistance, listen to it. Ask it: “What are you protecting me from?” “What do I need more of?” “What feels too heavy?” “What would make waking up feel safer, softer, or more meaningful?” Then begin gently. One breath. One stretch. One sip of water. One ray of light. One kind sentence. One small promise kept. You do not have to attack yourself into becoming a morning person. You can invite yourself into the day with warmth, humor, devotion, and grace. After all, every morning is life saying: “Here is another possibility..” And maybe, with a little grounding, a little joy, a little courage, and a little less snoozing, you can answer: “Love Your zindagi (life).”
